This course is an introduction to fitness and wellness, and consists of creating private fitness programs and instruction in physical exercise. The exercise portion includes fundamental strategies of weight coaching. Students can enroll in only one LFIT course during their career at Carolina. The exercise portion of the course consists of basic instruction in tennis. The exercise portion of the course contains primary instruction in flag football. The activity portion of the course contains basic instruction in sand volleyball.

The exercise portion of the course promotes cardiovascular fitness by way of jogging. This coeducational course is a combination of academic ideas, weight training, and cardiovascular fitness actions. A number of concepts, expertise, and behaviors to assist students create and monitor a personal fitness plan, including activity, sleep, diet, and overcoming barriers and challenges which may get in the way in which of progress. Students take part in activities that enhance cardiovascular fitness, muscular power and endurance, flexibility, and physique composition.
